Passionate camp counselor makes a journey to Yosemite

Kamryn is no stranger to the outdoors. When she isn’t doing school work or writing in her travel blog, Kamryn is a camp counselor for foster kids in Marble Falls. Serving as a mentor all summer, she spends time hiking, zip lining, and playing on the ropes course with the campers.  She says the opportunity to be a counselor this summer has given her experiences she thought she would never be able to do, like being certified in archery! A treasured memory Kamryn from the camp is drawing stars on the concrete in chalk so that one camper's mother, who passed away, could see the stars from heaven.

With her degree in public relations, Kamryn hopes to be an advocate and voice for children in foster care. She says her love of communicating with others will hopefully bring her to a career where she can speak about things she is passionate about. Her love of speaking is what piqued her interest in debate, an interest she has had since high school. She is currently on the debate team at Texas State and loves it so much she has even enrolled herself in a debate course for the fall semester.

Kamryn is excited to combine her love for the outdoors and talking to people and explore Yosemite National Park. This girl cannot get enough of nature!

Interesting Fact: She has debated at Harvard
What is next after college: Law school
Most excited about for Yosemite: Getting to meet new people and travel somewhere she has never been
